About the Role

Join Uber's pioneering Families Safety team and help shape the future of safe mobility for all family members-whether they're teens, caregivers, or older adults. As the Growth Bets Program Manager for Families Safety, you'll lead safety operations for Uber's Families portfolio, from Uber Teens to Older Adults. You'll work cross-functionally to design and implement safety frameworks, risk mitigation strategies, and scalable solutions that protect and empower families while enabling rapid business growth.

What the Candidate Will Do

  • Develop & Execute Safety Strategy: Define a comprehensive safety framework for the Families portfolio, ensuring seamless integration of best practices.
  • Mitigate Risk Across Key Products: Assess safety risks for Uber Teens, Older Adults, and Caregiver products, implementing proactive mitigation measures.
  • Embed Safety into Business Growth: Partner with product, engineering, and operations teams to balance risk management with innovation and rapid expansion.
  • Optimize & Scale Safety Programs: Monitor key performance indicators, refine mitigation strategies, and ensure consistency across global and regional safety initiatives.
  • Drive Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Eng, Ops, Product, legal) to codify safety mitigations and maintain high safety standards as these programs scale.
  • Operate as a Self-Starter: Work autonomously and thrive in an environment where you may not be co-located with your manager, proactively engaging collaborators and driving projects to completion.

What the Candidate Will Need

  • English proficiency
  • Google Sheets proficiency
  • 6+ years of experience in Program Management: Experience leading complex, cross-functional programs, ideally in safety, risk, or operations.
  • Independent Execution: Proven ability to drive initiatives without direct oversight, solving problems proactively.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Strong track record of working with product, engineering, legal, and operations teams.
  • Innovation & Adaptability: Comfort navigating evolving risk landscapes and regulatory environments, implementing mitigation strategies and scaling safety solutions.
  • Data-Driven Approach: Ability to analyze key metrics and use insights to improve safety and operational processes.
  • Stakeholder Management: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience influencing stakeholders and driving alignment
  • Decision Making: Navigating High-Stakes Decisions, balancing stakeholder input, making difficult decisions, and maintain trust in high-impact situations
  • Risk Assessment & Mitigation: Demonstrated ability to identify, evaluate, and address risks in dynamic, fast-growing environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Industry Experience: Background in mobility, transportation, or safety-related technology is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL-based data extraction and transformation
  • Ability to create insightful visualizations in Tableau for data storytelling and analytics
