Job Summary:
The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for the preparation and execution of payroll processes for employees across multiple departments or entities. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a sound understanding of payroll systems and regulations within the financial services industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and administer end-to-end payroll for all employees (weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly depending on pay schedule).
- Maintain accurate employee records, including new hires, terminations, benefits, leaves, bonuses, and deductions.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal payroll regulations and tax laws.
- Prepare and submit payroll tax filings and related reports in a timely manner.
- Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll, earnings, deductions, and tax forms.
- Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate reports.
- Coordinate with HR and Finance teams to ensure accurate processing of pay changes.
- Maintain confidentiality and protect payroll operations by keeping all information secure.
- Support internal and external audits related to payroll.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field, ACCA Level II - III is a plus
- Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist, Payroll Administrator, or similar role.
- Solid understanding of payroll principles, labor laws, and tax regulations.
- Proficiency in payroll software (QuickBooks, Peachtree, Sage)
- Strong numerical and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Experience within the financial services or finance industry is preferred.
