About the Team
TikTok infrastructure networking brings together innovative ideas and technologies from network architecture, software-defined networking (SDN), network virtualization, switch software and hardware co-design, and high-speed networking, to create hyperscale data-center networking solutions that power several of the most popular apps of the world such as TikTok which serve hundreds of millions of users around the globe.

TikTok infrastructure networking is responsible for planning, building and operating the global, intelligent network infrastructure to meet the requirements of high availability, scalability, and high-performance. By joining this team, you will gain marketable network experience in multiple technological domains on a global scale.

Responsibilities
- Plan, design, implement, operate and optimize TikTok's global backbone network across all major continents.
- Collaborate with network architecture, SDN, tools platform teams to improve network scalability, resource utilization, buildout efficiency and operational excellence.
- Collaborate with team members across multiple time zones to ensure continuous 7x24 global network operations.
- Partner with the 7x24 NOC team to support the day-to-day operations of the global backbone network infrastructure, including responding to network incidents alerts, mitigation, and service restoration during network failures.
- Travel may be required up to 15% - 30% of the time.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualification(s):
- Bachelor's in Computer Science, Information Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Good understanding of network protocols including TCP/IP, OSPF/IS-IS, BGP and MPLS related technologies.
- Hands-on experience with designing, building and operating wide area network (WAN) using devices from mainstream vendors, such as Cisco, Arista, Juniper, H3C, Nokia, etc.
- Self-motivated, good communication and written skills.

Preferred Qualification(s):
- In-depth knowledge and skill of backbone traffic engineering technologies, such as RSVP-TE, SRTE-MPLS and SRv6 etc.
- In-depth knowledge of quality-of-service (QoS) technologies and implementations on wide area network.
- Good understanding of controller-based software-defined networking.
- Programming/scripting in Python or other languages.
