Lead Data DevOps Engineer

We are looking for a passionate Lead Data DevOps Engineer to join EPAM and make an impact on an exciting project for a major client. In this role, you'll be a key player in maintaining and enhancing the data transformation architecture, the core foundation of the customer's analytical data platform. Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of build, deployment, and configuration management processes, with a focus on improving CI/CD pipelines using Terraform and DevOps across multiple environments and subscriptions
• Elevate user experience on the Databricks platform by applying best practices in cluster management, cost-effective setups, and data security models
• Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation, implementing solutions that drive efficiency and minimize manual effort

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional experience in a DevOps role
• Proven experience leading engineering teams or technical initiatives, with a strong ability to mentor and guide team members from 1 year
• 2+ years of hands-on experience working with Azure/AWS, including Data Lake Storage, Databricks, ADF, and Synapse Analytics or similar
• Ability to take ownership of technical decisions, ensuring alignment with both business objectives and best practices
• Extensive experience managing production infrastructure with Terraform
• Proven experience with CI/CD pipeline management using Azure DevOps, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions
• Hands-on expertise with the Databricks platform is a huge plus
• Proficiency in Python and SQL
• Experience with at least one scripting language: Bash, Perl, or Groovy
• Advanced knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker
• English level B2 or higher - able to communicate directly with customers
