Engagement Manager

Intelance helps organisations make practical decisions about technology, costs and change. We are looking for a freelance Engagement Manager to run the delivery of technology assessments alongside our engagement partner and architects.

You will manage the work plan, client requests, budget tracking and review process. Assignments may involve around 18 days across an eight week assessment. Scope and days are agreed for each assignment. Primarily remote within the UK, with occasional client meetings agreed in advance.

Tasks

• Build and maintain the delivery plan, responsibilities and review schedule.
• Coordinate client interviews and evidence requests without repeating work.
• Track delivery effort, dependencies, risks and agreed actions.
• Prepare concise weekly progress updates and escalate decisions early.
• Check that reports and review packs are complete and consistent.
• Coordinate client comments, agreed presentations and final handover.

Requirements

• Experience managing consulting engagements or technology assessments with external clients.
• Able to coordinate architects and specialists while keeping scope and effort under control.
• Confident handling senior client conversations and sensitive findings.
• Strong written English and practical use of Microsoft 365.
• Experience managing document reviews, commercial boundaries and delivery risks.
• Financial services or professional services experience is useful.

Benefits

• £450 to £525 per day, depending on relevant experience. Rates exclude VAT where applicable. Contracting route and tax status will be confirmed before an assignment is agreed.
• Direct partnership with the engagement lead and a specialist delivery team.
• Defined outputs and flexible working days.
• Primarily remote working, with necessary travel agreed in advance.
• Potential for further assignments by mutual agreement. No minimum volume of work is guaranteed.
