The end customer operates in the telecommunications and defense sectors, therefore a willingness to undergo a security clearance or an existing one (likely SÜ1 is sufficient) is required. The essential skills and qualifications for this position include:

Experience: More than 5 years of experience in data engineering, including at least 2-3 years with a strong focus on Databricks and Apache Spark (PySpark, Scala, or Spark SQL). Cloud infrastructure: Solid practical experience in the Microsoft Azure ecosystem (ADLS, Azure Data Factory, Azure DevOps). Language skills: Fluent German, both written and spoken (at least C1 level), and good English skills. Data Management: Solid understanding of data management principles, including data lifecycles, data cataloging, metadata management, and data schema design; existing security clearance or willingness to obtain one. Technical Skills: Advanced knowledge of Python and SQL; experience with Delta Lake architecture and Lakehouse concepts; familiarity with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines; experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform; experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow or dbt (Data Build Tool); optional: certification as a Databricks Certified Data Engineer Professional or Azure Data Engineer Associate (DP-203)
